Thursday, Sept, 26, 2024 was truly inspiring at the University of Miami! Javier Zafra presented his latest book, Gastro-Simbología. His exploration of how Sephardic culinary traditions intertwine with cultural identity was both enlightening and thought-provoking.
After the talk, we celebrated the opening day of The Golden Age of the Jews of Al-Andalus—an exhibition that beautifully brings to life a remarkable era of history. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend checking it out: https://www.library.miami.edu/exhibitions/golden-age-jews-al-andalus.html

A heartfelt thank you to Marta Puig from the Red de Juderías, Mercedes Hayon Cohen and Adriana Meneses Imber from CJI Miami, and the Spanish Consulate for making this enriching experience possible. Stay tuned for other events on the topic!
