Educational Outreach
Education plays a vital role in preserving and transmitting Sephardic traditions. Our Educational Outreach program aims to develop and provide educational resources, workshops, and curriculum materials for schools, universities, and community organizations. Related Projects and Collaboration in Research
SIDE-Cultures (2022-2026) – archival research, my collaboration in the research group, which studies the textual representations of inclusion and exclusion among the Christian, Muslim, and Jewish co-habitants of the peninsula (until the expulsion) and the aftermath dynamics, is of great value for the beginning of the summer research.
Promoting Language Revitalization Program
We have special interest in the idea of language preservation and revitalization. Ladino, also known as Judeo-Spanish, is taught through a variety of language-learning resources, workshops, and interactive events, we strive to connect individuals with this unique linguistic heritage. By fostering a love for Ladino and encouraging its use, we contribute to the preservation of this endangered language and its cultural significance. Here are some ways you can have on-line courses
Community Engagement
We believe in the power of community and actively engage with individuals and organizations that share our passion for Sephardic culture. Through collaborations, partnerships, and community events, we foster connections and create platforms for dialogue, exchange, and celebration. Our goal is to build a strong and supportive network of individuals dedicated to preserving, promoting, and perpetuating the Sephardic heritage.
Music Revival Initiative
The Music Revival Initiative focuses on reviving and promoting the vibrant musical traditions of Sephardic communities. We collaborate with talented musicians and performers, as the wonderful Susana Behar (https://www.susanabehar.com) to create and curate captivating concerts, workshops, and recordings that showcase the beauty and diversity of Sephardic music. By celebrating and sharing these melodies, we aim to breathe new life into ancient musical traditions and ensure their continuity for years to come.
Join us in our projects and become an active participant in the preservation and celebration of Sephardic culture. Together, we can make a lasting impact and ensure the vibrancy and continuity of our shared heritage.
